The world’s largest technology fair saw its fair share of telecom and technology companies this past week. The theme of this years CeBIT convention was next-generation hardware and applications. Radio Frequency Identification was a key topic at the convention, with many companies exploring the ways RFID implementation can help business. One such company is AIS's Future Lab, who is looking extensivly into the technology. It will be interesting to see how RFID will change the shipping industry over the next ten years. The amount of RFID news on the web can only be a sign of things to come. The Bangkok Post writes:

(now part of Symbol Technologies) that uses readers on clamp trucks to track rolls of paper in one of its facilities. Additional readers on the truck use a grid of tags buried in the facility floor for location tracking. The company is able to not only locate specific rolls of paper, but also evaluate material flow through the facility.
