In Korea, Yangji Resorts has unveiled an RFID system in its ski resort, hotel, and golf club to replace magnetic stripe membership cards. The resort now uses Inside's contactless PicoPass smart card. The card consists of a dual-protocol PicoPass chip that allows guests to use the card in a variety of functions. With the card, members can use the ski resort free of charge, obtain hotel accommodations, receive discounts, and use the golf course. By using the smart card, Yangji gives its members an easier, more convenient way to enjoy the services of the club. UsingRFID.com writes:
"Thanks to PicoPass, we are able to provide the resort with a solution involving proximity and vicinity within the campus. The security in the chip also was the perfect choice to implement the electronic purse function for pre-paid applications," said Young-Sik Park, project director for ID Future.
