Intel and Oracle have joined forces to develope both RFID and sensor-based technologies. Spokesman said that the partnership is a "common service-oriented enterprise framework." Both companies relize that the enormous amount of data generated by RFID networks need proper data management capabilities and computing power. According to vnunet.com:
"As companies deploy RFID and sensor networks, they need to be able to handle vast amounts of real-time data along with new business processes if they want to realise the maximum ROI," said Tom Gibbs, director of strategy and planning at Intel's Solutions Market Development Group.
