Microsoft's latest version of databases--the SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, and BizTalk Server 2006--will be ready for shipment November 7 of this year, says Senior Vice-President, Paul Flessner. The software to manage the data is due out shortly after, in 2006. The software will make data available to workers and assist loading data from RFID into databases. With the Microsoft technology, systems can be connected with each other--facilitating the needs companies face when conducting mergers or acquisitions with other companies. Microsoft will be installing features, it claims, to further assist the needs of businesses. These features include: the "reporting service" of the SQL Server 2005 to be in all editions, and a program writer that can direct RFID data coming into companies in the BizTalk Server. According to InformationWeek:
"We're going to make sure RFID is available very inexpensively and plentifully from a Windows perspective," said Flessner in a speech at the conference.
