Pixar Corp. and Intermec To Exchange RFID Technology

In what appears to be a progressive deal, the two leading companies in RFID technology, Pixar Corporation and Intermec's Technology Corporation signed an agreement to share each others RFID intellectual property portfolios. Paxar Corporation which is a complete RFID solution provider hopes to enhance its service by adding Intermec's portfolio of patented RFID Technology. Accordingly, it has joined Intermec's Rapid Start Licensing Program.

Intermec, on the other hand, hopes to gain out of certain technologies that have been developed by Paxar. Intermec Technologies is involved in developing and integrating technologies that deal with supply chain assets. It has over 145 RFID patents. It has put in place a Rapid Start Licensing Program that allows open access to its subscribers to all its RFID technology innovations.

The deal is expected to benefit customers of both the companies as they can avail of the best of the technologies available between them.morerfid.com reports:

Paxar has joined Intermec's Rapid Start Licensing Program, gaining full access to Intermec's insert, tag, and printer portfolios of Intermec patented RFID technology. In return, Intermec gains access to certain RFID technology developed by Paxar.
