Hosted RFID

Hosted RFID solutions such as those offered by companies like IBM and Seeburger Inc. can help SMBs who are finding it difficult to invest in the software and architecture required to satisfy the RFID mandates laid down by big clients such as Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and the DoD. Hosted RFID solutions can help SMBs to manage the slap and ship RFID implementations in a cost-effective manner.

The hosted service provided by IBM is a part of its Express Managed Services portfolio. It enables the SMBs to execute the tagging and labeling at their premises. The data management is managed by IBM, which monitors the equipment at the client’s premises, transfers the data to the user’s site via a remotely managed RFID network, and also provides support through help desk and technicians who will visit the site, if required.

The IDnet hosted RFID service provided by Seeburger provides the option of label verification and electronic invoicing. The operations can be tracked for auditing purposes and advanced shipping notices can be generated.
