Aegate, which is based in the United Kingdom, is developing its bar coding and RFID system for US and Belgian users. The Aegate system is used for tracking drugs while dispensing. The company plans to mold its system to conform to the dispensing and packaging requirements of other countries. rfidjournal.com reports:
Aegate expects its initial deployments to become operational in the first quarter of 2006 in the United States, and later in the year in Belgium. The exact timing, however, is dependent on the needs and desires of the participating drug manufacturers.
