Tracking money with RFID

The Swedish national bank, the Riksbanken, is giving thought to incorporating RFID in its currency notes in order to thwart currency theft. rfid-weblog.com reports:

Several types of tags are under consideration: a passive id-tag for tracking stolen banknotes would form a first step.
