RFid-based Nuclear Power Plant Construction Technologies developed by Hitachi
Hitachi has developed RFid based technologies which can be applied to nuclear plant construction. It has developed two systems, a RFid based cable connection navigation system and RFid tag system to be used in the processes of manufacturing and installing pipes. In the RFid tag system, RFid tags can be attached to construction materials when they are delivered in order to ensure efficient distribution management. This system can help in avoiding human errors and ensuring traceability of materials. On the other hand the navigation system makes use of RFid tags which when attached to cable cores and end terminals simplify cable connection work and helps workers in easily detecting errors while connecting cables.
