Atmel has released a UHF RFID long-range demo kit to be used to evaluate the TAGIDU IDIC ATA5590 hardware. Applications included in the demo kit include intelligent logistics, supply chain management, anti-counterfeiting, etc. The demo kit features asynchronous low-power design architecture and the PSK-modulation feature in the return link; these enable the kit to achieve operating distances of up to 12 feet. The kit also contains labels and tags as well as a UDL 500 long-distance UHF reader with two integrated antennas developed by Deister Electronic GmbH. The kit is priced US $ 3,600 onward.
