Metropolitan Transportation Authority to conduct RFid pilot test

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is conducting a pilot test to enable customers to get through the gate quickly and reliably by tapping their credit card on a turnstile. It is making use of MasterCard PayPass technology which is being implemented at McDonalds and other sporting events. Citibank is paying for installing PayPass readers at 23 stations. Only trial participants would be able to use their PayPass enabled cards or keys in the program. Citibank MasterCard PayPass credit card holders who have enrolled for the pilot test would be able to use their credit card or tag that can be hung on a keychain to zip through the turnstile.
