Intermec develops new rugged, reusable Intermec RFID tag

The leading RFID based manufacturer Intermec Inc developed a reusable, ruggedized Intermec RFID large Rigid Tag. It has the capacity to resist temperature extremes and hazardous exposures common in manufacturing and material handling operations. The entrepreneurs and firming community will be immensely benifitated of it in tracking materials through demanding industrial processes and global logistics operations.

The use of innovative and more sophisticated broadband antenna design provides superior performances on a wide range of materials, including metal, plastic and wood. Since the Intermec RFID LR Tag is reusable, each use of the tag costs only fractions of a cent. The tag can be written thousands of times. Each use-cost is low.

At the same time a single tag has the capacity to identify and track various items such as subassemblies, work-in-process components, finished goods and material handing equipment.
