With a number of controversies surrounding RFid, researchers are looking for various alternatives. One of the alternatives involves palm reading, veins and blood cells. Luminetx has worked on a technology that implements an infrared scan of blood cells that run through an individual’s veins. The process was invented by the company to help medical professionals find veins in patients who required injections but the company sensed an opportunity and is marketing the technology as an alternative to controversial biometric identification tools to homeland security officials and financial institutions. The company has already received the patent for this technology and industry observers are quite excited about the developments.
